Voted Most Influential Physician Executive in the US in Modern Healthcare’s 2012 poll, Dr. Topol works on genomic and wireless digital innovative technologies to reshape the future of medicine. He is a practicing cardiologist at Scripps in La Jolla, California, and is widely credited for Cleveland Clinic’s status as the leading center for heart care. There, he started a medical school, led worldwide clinical trials to advance care for heart disease, and spearheaded the discovery of genes that increase susceptibility for heart attacks.
